1 Can you introduce yourself and talk about how you got into photography?

I was born in Haarlem, The Netherlands. Currently, I live in Antwerp, Belgium. What started as a hobby has become my profession. I am specialized in portrait photography. I make portraits with a feeling of stillness, I try to capture a certain peace and emotion in my models, and I am always looking for a specific unique impression. I work with very soft lighting, which gives the photo a painterly effect.

2 Where did you study photography?

In 2019, I commenced my photography studies at the School for Photography in Breda in the Netherlands.

3 Do you remember your first shot? What was it?

The very first image I ever captured was through the lens of a Nikon camera. It was a homework assignment, and since it happened to be Easter, I chose to photograph a charming bunny statue.

4 What equipment do you use?

Nowadays I work with a Hasselblad camera, X1D and a 90 mm lens

5 What compliment inspired/touched you the most?

It's incredibly rewarding when mothers share with me that they were moved to tears upon receiving the photos and seeing the results.

6 What inspires your unique storytelling?

As a photographer, I draw inspiration from a variety of sources, but one of my biggest influences is the world of art history. I am particularly drawn to the old masters and their use of light and composition to tell stories through their paintings. In addition to art history, I am also inspired by the world around me, from the people I meet to the places I visit.

7 What THREE (3) words describe your photography style?
