Once upon a time, there was a sweet little girl who always wore a red cloak with a hood, so everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood. One day, her mother asked her to visit her sick grandmother and bring her a basket of food. Before she left, her mother warned her not to stray from the path and to be careful of strangers. Little Red Riding Hood promised to follow her mother’s advice.

On her way through the forest, Little Red Riding Hood met a cunning wolf. He pretended to be friendly and asked where she was going. Innocently, she told him about her grandmother’s house. The wolf came up with a plan. He suggested she pick some flowers for her grandmother while he hurried ahead to the house.

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house, knocked on the door, and, pretending to be Little Red Riding Hood, tricked the grandmother into letting him in. He quickly swallowed her whole, put on her clothes, and climbed into her bed to wait for Little Red Riding Hood.

When Little Red Riding Hood arrived, she noticed something was different about her grandmother but couldn’t quite figure it out. “What big ears you have, Grandmother!” she said. “The better to hear you with,” the wolf replied. “What big eyes you have!” she continued. “The better to see you with,” said the wolf. Finally, she exclaimed, “What big teeth you have!” The wolf responded, “The better to eat you with!” and jumped out of the bed to gobble her up.

Just as the wolf was about to eat her, a passing huntsman heard the commotion, rushed in, and rescued Little Red Riding Hood. He cut open the wolf’s belly, freeing the grandmother. The huntsman then filled the wolf’s belly with stones, and when the wolf woke up, he collapsed and died from the weight.

Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother thanked the brave huntsman, and they learned an important lesson: always be cautious of strangers, especially in the woods.
