In today’s society, women embody indispensable and multifaceted roles. They not only carry the responsibility of reproduction and nurturing the next generation—often serving as the “invisible bond” that preserves family culture—but are also increasingly active across diverse social spheres. With the ongoing advancement of gender equality, women are expected not only to manage domestic affairs but also to take on leadership roles in their professional careers.
In my photographic practice, I employ staged settings to explore the delicate balance women maintain between family and career. Through body language and carefully constructed visual metaphors, I aim to portray this dual burden with a tone of humor and satire. Props symbolizing domestic labor and professional tools are deliberately juxtaposed, sometimes in exaggerated or ironic forms, to highlight the absurdity and complexity of contemporary gender expectations. These staged scenes serve both as a visual commentary on how the female body is socially constructed to shoulder the dual demands of home and work, and as a critical yet light reflection on the lived experiences of contemporary women.
