I’m Jacks. I work in the public sector, and I take photos because it helps me slow down and actually notice what’s happening around me. I’m drawn to real moments — the unpolished, in‑between bits where people are just being themselves.
A lot of what matters to me comes from the communities I’m part of. Advocacy is a big thread in my life, especially around inclusion and making sure people feel safe enough to show up as who they are. I also spend time supporting veterans and volunteering where I can. None of it is flashy — it’s just the kind of steady, practical care that feels important.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me drumming, walking my dog, or getting involved in something community‑based. Those things keep me grounded.
My photography isn’t about big statements. It’s about paying attention, treating people with respect, and trying to create small moments — in images or in life — where someone feels a bit more at ease.
