Twisted Trees explores resilience and adaptation in the natural world. These aspens have been shaped over time by heavy winter snow and downhill movement, bending young trunks close to the ground before they rise again toward the light. Each curve records the quiet pressure of winter and the tree’s refusal to break.

Drawn to their sculptural forms and rhythmic repetition, I photographed the forest as a series of living gestures—individual yet unified. The pale bark contrasts with the warm autumn ground, emphasizing both fragility and strength.

This image is not about perfection, but persistence. The trees stand as a metaphor for endurance: shaped by circumstance, altered by time, yet continuing to grow together. By presenting the forest as an expressive presence rather than a traditional landscape, this work invites the viewer to slow down and see nature as both resilient and deeply human.
