During a whale watching excursion in front of Genoa, Italy, in the Mediterranean Sea, we were approached by a sperm whale, which swam near the boat looking at us fixedly in the eyes as if it wanted to cross the boundary between the sea and the sky. He was given the name Elijah, as a wise man of the sea tried to communicate with humanity.
