In 'Citrinitas', Marcel van Beek explores the transition from fluid matter to ephemeral syntax. Captured through pure optical processes, the series documents condensation on industrial glass panes, where traces of snails and environmental residues form an organic script. These ‘light-scripts’ investigate the alchemy of the ordinary, transforming mundane moisture into complex, golden-hued abstractions. By isolating these fleeting moments of structural formation, the work challenges the boundaries between natural phenomena and intentional calligraphic art, revealing a hidden, elemental language.
