This photograph captures the Park Hill estate in Sheffield, England, which is one of Europe’s largest brutalist architectural complexes. Known for its exposed concrete and functional grid, brutalism was once seen as stark and unloved. However, this innovative revitalization project has introduced vibrant colored panels of yellow, green, orange, and red into the once monochrome grid, transforming the building into a living urban palette.
