The Birdcage

The woman as a prisoner in the golden cage. The light comes from you, shining for the splendor of your beauty and grace, your intellect and your goodness. The cage appears to be open, but she remains trapped and cannot escape. It only makes the impression that she is free. In reality she is trapped, her soul has died, she cannot be free. The dead bird embodies her soul. She looks beautiful, but appearances are not her inner self.
