Wild Sands

The first thing I did after I arrived on Assateague Island was set up camp and go searching for the famous wild horses. We drove along the beaches for miles, with nothing in sight. Eventually we stopped the car, and I had a sense we were close. I walked just a bit further, and sure enough there was a mustang. The mustang was stunning, and seemed to be on a mission. I waited several hundred feet away for the perfect moment to capture his spirit and beauty. I was thrilled after hitting the shutter many times to find this photograph waiting for me when I returned to camp.
