Feast

I developed my artistic style starting with a strong focus on creating landscape images. These images ranged from maritime to urban to industrial views. After moving into my own studio, I moved away from landscape images to feature floral and still life studies. By working in the controlled studio environment has allowed me to utilize my life experiences to input heart and soul into each image by experimenting with composition and lighting.

The series of eight black and white images was selected from the eleven unique images that form part of the 2019 Feast exhibition. The Feast exhibition was a collaboration with J.L. Phillips Gallery in Toronto.

The sheer beauty combined with the rich variety of gestural poses honors the lives of the food we are preparing. The absence of color was important to let the viewer take in the textures and raw form which is often forgotten upon consumption.

The images in the submission were created during 2019.

For each image five handcrafted silver gelatin prints are available with an image size of 16” (w) x 20” (l) and framed size 28” (w) x 32” (l).
