Globally we deforest around ten million hectares of forest every year. That's an area the size of Portugal every year. Around half of this deforestation is offset by regrowing forests, so overall we lose around five million hectares each year.

The Helsinki Foundation is a non-profit foundation established for the purpose of either directly or indirectly promoting the long-term conservation of nature.

The Helsinki Foundation is a paradigm shift in thinking about conservation – tapping collective responsibility, but not with taxpayer monies. The Foundation’s Guardianship Project is a vehicle that enables concerned global citizens to take action towards a common goal and legally bind land for conservation.

It is a crowdfunding approach that is relevant to people of the digital age.

With this service you can purchase a piece of land and protect it, forever.
