Little Color Study

Little Color Study is a collection of macro flora and fauna portraits displaying a continuous spectrum of color. Finding the precise light to document rich hues is a challenge I embrace. I used both a Super and Ultra Macro lens with a wide-set aperture to capture minimal, specific detail for a streaming bokeh. As the color study evolves by adding more images, the overall pattern shifts. I’m discovering tributaries of color combinations, opening the opportunity to create a flowing and unique macro journey through emotive color from our natural world. Each image is captured in my backyard garden and surrounding wilderness areas in Western Maryland, United States.
