Hyper-activity, hyper-productivity, hyper-connectivity, are terms that have become so widely accepted in our society that doing nothing, thinking, and silence are frowned upon. Everything seems to have to be finalized to a goal, even leisure and rest. The "backlog of the tasks to be carried out", multitasking, speed, efficiency tend to be the indicators with which we measure ourselves and demand ourselves. We want to reach everything, but we have the feeling of not reaching anything.
I want to get off this carousel of life! I have the right to be unproductive, I have the right to waste time, I have the right for philosophy to flow. I need spaces of silence to find myself again, so that no one can reach me.
One day I stopped to admire the slow and rhythmic movement of some luminescent jellyfish in an aquarium; the elegance of the vision overcame the thought of the poison that those beings possess, and my mind led me to make unthinkable connections. For example, I glimpsed in the shape of some umbrella jellyfish, the typical carousels of amusement parks and how these could be assimilated to the rhythm of our lives in which we spin at full speed, often without making sense. The rhythm of the carousel in contrast with the cosmos of a landscape full of silence.
After a time without time in which I gained another time, I became aware of where I was again and saw again the slow and rhythmic movement of some luminescent jellyfish in an aquarium...
In that moment I decided to create this series whose purpose is to visualize what I saw at that moment of thought...
