Alopecia Warrior

Having alopecia universal for more than 20 I started taking self-portraits annually on my birthday month in August. Taking artistic self-portraits gave me a different perspective on my own appearance, confidence and self-love. This series is more than photographs. I hope they can raise awareness for alopecia areata and give inspiration to everyone who finds themselves on a healing journey towards accepting themselves and revealing their own beauty.

Alopecia universalis is a condition characterized by the complete loss of hair on the scalp and body. It is an autoimmune disease and the exact cause of it is unknown.
