Dark Sky Perseids

You can count over 300 shower meteors on the all-night mosaic of the Perseids captured above the Kolonica Observatory, Slovakia. Thanks to the dark sky, it is also possible to see dim meteors, but also extremely bright ones. Due to the perspective, the meteors fly from the Perseus constellation all over the sky and have a striking greenish color due to the magnesium in their composition, but also the emission of oxygen during their burning in the atmosphere. This mosaic comes from the peak of 2018.
