Face to face

Dorka is a talented young model based in Hungary. This picture is the result of teamwork with an artist-photographer who coaches me on lighting techniques. Back in April 2023, we entered the studio in Budapest and I immediately noticed this large portrait on the wall, which reminded me of a retouched color picture. I simply asked Dorka to take a series of poses she felt comfortable with and, most importantly, to make eye contact with the woman on the wall. The square format is a choice that came later in the retouching process to eliminate anything superfluous from the picture.
