Comin' Round the Mountain

This began as a family trip to enjoy the train ride, which we did the day before. We got up early and enjoyed a ride on one of the open-air cars. The photos from the ride were good, but not what I was looking for. Near the end of our voyage one the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, I noticed this bend, which happened to be across from our Air BnB. The next morning, I got up early and had my family drop me off while they went to get breakfast. I was really excited with anticipation of seeing steam engine 1702 come around the very bend I had noticed the day before. The engineer even saw me and blew the whistle to give me that amazing look with the huge plume of smoke. It was the perfect way to end this bucket list trip that I had wanted to do for years prior. I was also the first family trip since my father passed in 2020. Such beautiful memories with this one.
