Blue Ridge Parkway

This is just one of many great fall shots that I was able to get on a family trip. The trip was a bucket list item that I have been wanting to do for years. I have been to the Blue Ridge Parkway numerous times. But I had never driven the entire Parkway. So, we set out to do just that and, on this morning, we got to see exactly why a certain section of the Blue Ridge Mountains is referred to as the Smoky Mountains. We were literally driving through the clouds at times. At one point, we were clear blue skies and sun. Then we would go through a tunnel and be in a completely different world, surrounded by rising fog and clouds off the mountain itself. It was a magical wonderland and a beautifully unique experience.
