Fight or Flight

At home, we have an open backyard facing a wooded area in which many animals live, including a family of deer that likes to visit us every so often. I would photograph them many times over the years. This time, as the young deer came to visit, a cat was nearby as well. I grabbed my camera to take pictures of both, when to my surprise, I witnessed something I never expected nor witnessed before. The cat, in all its confidence and instinct, suddenly launched at the deer many times its size in pursuit of a fight. The deer reacted in fright and I captured that exact dynamic moment in this picture. I named it Fight or Flight.
