The passion for gaming is intense across all ages, especially Gen Zs, the line between reality and gaming is more than blurred, it’s often erased. So when asked to shoot lifestyle photography for the release of 5 new OMEN laptops and 5 new monitors, we knew we had to ‘level up,’ from the usual desktop shoot and really bring the other-wordly, gaming reality to life.



We got to work brainstorming gaming-inspired scenarios and threw a spin on the everyday. A train car became a jungle clearing, a place to meet a mermaid commuting, reflections became avatars, cowgirls could ride cabbages and gravity became optional. We translated these ideas into turn-key, custom-built set designs. We cast Gen Z talent and dropped them into these surreal scenes. Even though the imagery was fantastical, the effects were mostly practical — we built sideways kitchens, custom walk-in closets and ball pits, as well as OMEN-branded hairspray and potting soil. CGI was used sparingly, and mostly to replace the demo product models used with the final products in retouching.



The result? 4 practical sets for a 2-day shoot resulting in 32 hero shots captured. And intense, unforgettable images that instantly communicated the immersive power of the OMEN brand of laptops—leading 473.5K monthly eyes to these assets on the OMEN homepage.
