Himalayan Mood

We were cold, wet and soaked right through our clothes, for we had just hiked through rain, sleet and hail. Despite these feelings, we all have smiles on our faces. We just reached our base camp for the next two nights at 4,000 meters above sea level. As we were warming up in the wooden cabin, a team member came running in and shouted, "The light is epic." Abandoning our warm tea and snacks, we put on our wet clothes, grabbed our gear, and headed out. The valley that dumped rain, sleet and hail on us was now basking in the warm sun, certainly changing our mood from the day's trek in the Himalayas.
