My wife and I had the privilege of being on assignment to photograph the grand re-opening of the Regent Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, California. This exclusive, invitation-only event was meticulously organized by our client, Kaleidoscope Vue Consulting. The reimagined hotel, formerly the Loews Santa Monica, marked the return of the Regent brand to North America after more than 30 years, making this an extraordinary occasion.



Amidst the excitement, I focused on capturing the intricate details that conveyed the ambiance and essence of the event. One moment stood out—a guest entering the elegantly backlit check-in area, framed by the glowing display of the hotel logo. The juxtaposition of the warm tones from the hanging light fixture and the cooler hues of the display and surrounding furniture created a striking visual harmony that I found compelling. This photograph encapsulates the sophistication and grandeur of this landmark transformation.
