Mumjidam Kingdom and is located in the wildest and most deserted parts of the Rhodope Mountains in Bulgaria.Wild, impenetrable, unspoiled are all these ditches around the Mumjidam Kingdom. Completely devoid of human presence, with horribly steep slopes on which goat trails are barely distinguished. It is said that Kurdish cattlemen travelling up the mountain settled here some 300 years ago. They came with their animals along the Roman roads, and settled here, where there were no people then. But people have built houses, raised children and cared for their livelihoods. Today most of the houses are broken. It's just not possible to live in this place, life is terribly difficult. But one person has chosen still to live there. With no electricity and water in the house. The nearest place, where he can buy food is 4 hours walking through some of the wildest and most deserted parts. The person has dog,a few cows, sheeps and goats. Many of his animals are killed and eaten by the wild bears. Before being to Mumjidam, I have asked myself the question: 'Why this person wants to live there away from civilization?'. After visiting the place I can understand why. The beauty of this place is indescribable.
