The Trevi Fountain is part of history yet I feel that it is a real part of modern day Rome.
I had tried on successive days to get there early to avoid the crowds, failed even when going there for 0300hrs. I almost gave up but I still wondered how I could display the place as it is today - which means permanent crowds. The answer was to turn up on my last day in the city to make both architecture and people appear in the image - one relying on the other.
The other images were taken in the 48 hours preceding the Trevi Fountain image except for the Pantheon with Angel Light that I took in 2022 - which provided the inspiration for the successive images. After converting this one to B&W I felt that it was by far and away, the best choice for my depiction of Historical Rome in the 21st century.
