At the end of the day, the dump resembles a post-apocalyptic scenario. The atmosphere is heavy, almost palpable, punctuated by the living flames of fires spewing toxic fumes. It's time for the scavengers. The scraps of food have already been fought over during the day with the animals that have already left the site. Now, amidst the amalgam of burnt debris, there are pieces of metal and glass, the last hope at the end of another day at the dump.
