When I visit a new city, I always explore on foot at dusk. In Luxembourg, this habit led me to the Spuerkeess National Bank of Luxembourg. Under the evening lights, its architectural beauty stood out, revealing a story of history and purpose.

Built in 1922 on the Bourbon Plateau, the building once served as ARBED’s headquarters, a key player in Luxembourg’s mining and steel industry. Its grand design, with four wings around an inner courtyard, reflects strength and legacy. The entrance, guarded by pillars adorned with figures of Victoria and Mercury, symbolizes triumph and commerce, linking to its industrial past.

What captivated me was how light enhanced its details, bringing the stone carvings and architectural lines to life. It felt like the building was narrating its history—a story of resilience and progress. Today, as the home of Spuerkeess, it symbolizes stability and trust in Luxembourg.

Through my lens, I aimed to capture this blend of art, history, and symbolism. I want others to see buildings not just as structures but as stories carved in stone. This photo is my tribute to architectural brilliance and cultural legacy.
