The Gateway Arch in St. Louis dominates the skyline with its towering 630-foot presence, a symbol of strength and ambition. Yet, in this frame, a small airplane appears beside it—a paradox of scale. Beside the massive Arch, there are chances that the plane might go unnoticed. In reality, the plane is much larger, capable of carrying people across vast distances. But from this perspective, it seems tiny, almost insignificant against the massive Arch. This visual contradiction challenges our sense of size and distance, showing how perspective shapes our understanding of the world. What seems enormous from one view can appear small from another, reminding us that scale is often just a matter of perception.
