Threading The MacKenzie Country

I have tried to capture a wonderful moment as you drive South in the South Island of New Zealand: having traversed through villages and pastures for an hour or two, quite suddenly the view opens up to a vast scene of mountains, and they get closer and closer with each minute as you drive through this area, known as 'The MacKenzie'.

I chose to process this in black and white as, although pretty in colour, the drama of the scene is more evident in monochrome.

I waited for a vehicle to lead into the winding road ahead, I felt a truck suited the scene well.
