This was a personal gift to myself for my 44th birthday, a trip to Cumberland Island, GA where they have wild horses that roam the island. I had been there years before, but I went with no equipment, just the experience. An experience that left a lasting impression. I formed a bond with these horses on that first trip, as I was approached by them and then they allowed me to mirror that gesture and approach them. Close enough that I was able to reach out and pet one of them. This was pretty amazing considering they were walking away from everyone else and not allowing them to come close. This trip however, I wanted to return and capture the essence of what I felt in person from the first trip. It was nothing short of amazing seeing them on the beach this time. Most of them by the sand dunes and just a single adult male stood at the edge of the beach facing outward toward the sea. He was in the meditative trance as if he was communicating to ancient ancestors from across the ocean. His energy was in complete peace and was truly mystical in his presence. You could feel that same energy amongst the others as they stood or lay silent, patiently enjoying the moment as well. I found myself in the most calming place that I can remember to this day, and I hope that feeling is what others feel and see with these images.
