As the day dawns, it appears there is but one survivor from the shipwrecked steamboat, a woman washed up on the shore, entangled in ship's rope, old chests containing goods that may help her survive are washed up with her. Events must have happened at speed as she grabbed what seemed important - a sunhat and watch. Fortune is on the woman's side, a lone dog from the island where she has landed is tugging at her garment, beckoning her out of the waves and to safety.
All the elements but the steamship and it's smoke were shot very early morning. I deemed this necessary both for the light and tones, as well as any sunlight halos I may catch (though these are subtle owing to the low light intensity of sunrise). The dog came with, also took two trunks (heavy when full of sand that wouldn't tip out!), rope and watch.
The steamship was shot in the middle of nowhere on a trailer. The smoke is clouds shot with a cellphone on a rainy day.
This is a single image taken from a five image project. As a single image I am displaying it as a circle to focus to the important elements, as well as suggesting the port holes of a steamship.
