I have been taking levitation photographs since 2011, greatly influenced by Natsumi Hayashi's “Yowayowa Camera Woman Diary”.
I take self-portraits a "levitator" who is floating, seemingly unaffected by gravity, as if it were everyday life. The levitation shot is captured at the moment when I appear to be floating while jumping. I do not use compositing technology or generative AI. I have continued this series for 13 years with passion and commitment to the theme of “Zero Gravity“. I do everything from location selection to shooting to post-production.
When photographing floating subject, I try to bring out a wide range of emotions, not just a mysterious or melancholic atmosphere, but also cheerfulness that makes the viewer feel relieved. Even if you are familiar with the scenery, if the subject is floating, it will look like a different world.
As a master of floating photography, he has been featured on national television, radio, YouTube, and domestic and international media in Japan.
He has over 57,000 followers on Instagram and Twitter, and has won over 90 photography competitions both domestically and internationally. I also create videos on YouTube about how to take levitation photos and about photography topics in general.
