In Golden Bow, I aimed to capture a simple, honest moment as the stallion lowered his head. The light showed the gold in his mane and the clean lines of his posture. By keeping the composition tight, I focused on shape, calm energy, and the quiet strength in his natural movement.
This double perlino stallion stood calmly, lowering his head in a natural bow that revealed the powerful arc of his neck and the subtle musculature beneath his pale coat. The gesture was unprompted and brief, but it carried a sense of composure that immediately drew my attention.
I chose a portrait look, with a dark, minimal background to isolate the form and allow the warm gold tones of his mane to stand apart from the softer ivory of his body. The contrast emphasizes both structure and texture—smooth skin, flowing hair, and the gentle transition of light across his shoulder and neck.
This image is about restraint. The stallion is physically imposing, yet the lowered head shifts the narrative away from dominance and toward self-possession. His eye is partially hidden, encouraging the viewer to read the body language rather than seek expression in the face.
Golden Bow reflects my ongoing interest in portraying horses not as symbols, but as individuals—present, grounded, and expressive in subtle ways
