Green Light Special

This image was taken at Paranormal Cirque in Eugene Or. I have requested to shoot their show for a couple years and have getting to know the performers more and more as they come back through our city. I wasn't originally going to this tour in April but Paranormal Cirque reached out to me if I wanted to photograph this particular event. I thought about it and told them yes. I asked folks in my photography group if anybody wanted to go as well and there was a falling out from some of the members over not photographing for free vs. the art of photography and having fun with it.



I hardly shoot for free but I make exceptions for things that are fun, challenging, and artistic. I made the decision to go anyways. With knowing the lay out of the show, I was able to get in a position to get different angles that I've never tried prior to the artist being their act. This artist (Jacqueline Zavala) is one of my favorite artists to witness. I normally photograph her close, but this time I wanted a wide angle shot from the center. Lucky, this was a slow day and there were seats opened in the back for me to get in the postion I wanted. I took a series of images but this image stood out to me the most. I was very captivated by this image.
