THIS WORDS SAY THIS AND THIS WORDS DON'T

The world goes round with words. And indeed, some words say this and other words don't.

It is a question of understanding. Suddenly you can understand that the world of humans can be divided in many facets, and that when we talk to another it is not completely sure he or she understands what we are saying. Eric Pijnaken has been inspired by a graffiti text that underlines the human shortcomings : « This Words Say This ; This Words Don't ».

The invention of fake news enhances this aspect.

So it is with images. They speak too, and their language is very strong. But like with audible words, there is question of fake. Advertisements have a tendency to create fake information with exaggerated pictures, and the same in tv-news and photo art. Everything has to be sensational.

The nice thing with graffiti is that it perishes in rain and wind. This series has been created to survive. It is inspired by a graffity text on a building in Lyon, France.
