Sahelian Portraits

In many places in Sub-Saharan Africa, hard labor is graced by color and design, and creativity abounds in the most mundane aspects of existence. Life is lived within art. I captured this series over two different assignments in the African Sahel region - Niger in 2018, and Mali and Burkina Faso in 2021 - while on assignment with Corus International, a US-based NGO that helps small farmers thrive despite expanding desertification and a changing climate.
