As one leaves the South Luangwa National Park (NE Zambia) you have to access the old steel bridge across the great Luangwa River. It is our custom to always pause on the bridge, and to survey the surrounds, in order to capture those amazing sunsets, and the things that present themselves at that magical golden time of the day.

This time an agitated local troop of Yellow Baboons were sitting on the railings, with their attention firmly fixed on something on the opposite bank...

Photographing into strong light, and sunsets is never easy, so I quietly used this opportunity to inch my way around in order to capture a silhouette image of the big sentinel baboon with his mind clearly elsewhere....
