One of the impacts of the drought in Amboseli was the dispersal of many elephant families to the foothills below Kilimanjaro & the Chyulu hills in search of water. Consequently, when we spotted any gathering of elephants on the lakebed, I tried to make the most of these sightings. The kicking up of dust as the elephants crossed in front of us helps to give this image some added impact.
