Young Admiring the Ancient

Visiting the ancient Roman Baths in Bath, UK, was quite the experience. While walking around the columns and taking in the moment of standing in such a timeworn but solid place I noticed several individuals simply admiring the baths. One such was a small child seated at the edge, looking at the water, the building reflected on the surface, and the moment was so overwhelming for me. The Baths, having been built in the 5th century still stand and now, 2000 years later, a young child sits admiring the ancient architecture and beauty of this complex site. It is amazing how well-preserved it stands and that the natural thermal springs which so long ago attracted people far and wide to come to bathe still flow with hot water to this very day. One cannot help but stop to admire it all.
