Culinary Canvases

As an individual of Asian descent residing in a Western country, I have observed that despite more than a decade spent in the United States, my cultural habits and Chinese ideologies remain largely unchanged. This steadfast adherence is notably evident in my culinary preferences, as I consistently favor Chinese cuisine over Western fare. Nonetheless, I acknowledge that exposure to Western cultures has inevitably influenced certain aspects of my beliefs and behaviors.



This phenomenon extends beyond my personal experiences to underscore a broader societal dynamic within Western culture. In my ongoing photographic series, each image features a traditional Chinese dish meticulously composed against the backdrop of oil paintings I have created. By seamlessly integrating quintessential Chinese ingredients with my own artistic renderings, I endeavor to convey nuanced narratives that transcend cultural boundaries.
