Lockdown - Roof With a View

During lockdown in London my visual world became restricted to my home and it's surroundings. My roof provided a secluded vantage point.

Photography was confined to this arena so with Hobson's choice the challenge was set to create project.

Never before had I scrutinised the neighbouring buildings so vividly.

The changing light and shifting colours became particularly prominent, especially as the sun dropped.

Surrounding architecture transformed into eerie-looking structures.

At dusk the reflective buildings mirrored and changed colours, producing unusual pastel tints.

The resulting effect captured in camera and unaltered palette are reminiscent of Edward Hopper's paintings.

The roof opened up my world providing space, freedom, adventure and an unconfined environment to explore photographically - a roof with a view.
