I am visually impaired due to glaucoma, which has left me with almost no vision in my left eye and about 30% of my visual field lost in my right eye. As a result, I experience symptoms such as distorted depth perception, a sense of imbalance, and visual hallucinations. The scenes I see are often unclear and hazy. Due to multiple surgeries, I have become very sensitive to bright lights, and every time I’m exposed to the glow of store windows or car headlights, the colors in my view seem to shift and change. The shapes of people and moving cars are not clear or well-defined to me; it’s as if I’m looking at a television screen with poor reception.

I recreated the everyday vision I experience using multiple exposure techniques in this piece, capturing a scene from Ginza, which I visited for work. This artwork is a representation of my daily reality, where everything is in constant flux due to my visual limitations.

I hope you will join me in this journey of exploring and sharing how I perceive the world.
